Purpose of this note:

1. Update all on the latest planning for upcoming trip.
2. Solicit interest in adults willing to participate in the bicycle portion of the ride. It affects the scope of what we can do.

There are two new albums: Our bamboo-clearing service project, and our most recent campout and ropes course.

We will be hosting an "Introduction to Scouting" event at New Covenant Schools on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at 7:00 pm. The focus of the event is to introduce prospective boys to scouting and answer questions about Troop 1412 and the Boy Scouts of America.

Family members are invited. There will be all kinds of fun activities, including a climbing tower and camping / cooking demonstrations.

Adult leaders of the Troop will be discussing our Troop's philosophy, and why we have become one of Lynchburg's most popular groups.

Come out and visit with us. We'd like to get to know you and discuss the many ways that Scouting can help your son become a better man.
