Job Description: The Outdoor/Activities (Programs) Chairperson fills a very important role in the Troop. This person will be the overall coordinator for all of the Troop’s Activities during the year. This person will serve as the Chair for the Programs Committee. This Committee will have the responsibility to ensure all of the logistical support is in place for each activity the Troop attends.

The Programs Chair must be at least 18 years of age, be
an American Citizen, be approved by the troop's chartered organization,
and must agree to live by the Scout Oath and Law.
Job Obligations:
1. Implement the calendar of events as voted on by the Troop in August/September.
2. Find a person or persons to handle the logistical support for an event.
3. Help in securing permission to use camping sites.
4. Work with the Transportation Coordinator to ensure there is adequate transportation. In the absence of a Transportation Coordinator, this position serves as the Transportation Coordinator (See Transportation Chair).
5. Ensure a monthly outdoor program.
6. Maintain activity records in TroopMaster.
7. Promote the National Camping Award.
8. Promote, through family meetings, attendance at troop campouts, camporees, and summer camp to reach the goal of one outing per month.
9. Secure tour permits for all troop activities.
10. Report to the troop committee at each meeting.
11. Though the wearing of the Scout uniform by the Programs Chair is not required, it is strongly encouraged.
12. Be a good role model for the Scouts in the troop, and live by the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan.
13. Be a registered Adult Leader or Member of Committee and be Youth Protection Trained.
