The Programs Committee members will assist the Programs Committee Chair in ensuring that the necessary logistics are in place for each event the Troop decides to attend during the year. This committee, ideally, should contain three to five members.

A Programs Committee Member must be at least 18 years of age, be an American Citizen, be approved by the troop's chartered organization, and must agree to live by the Scout Oath and Law.

Job Obligations:
    1. Ensure that each event has an adequate number of trained ASMs or registered adults to meet BSA requirements.
    2. Find an event coordinator for each event.
    3. Assist the event coordinators with any reservations that need to be made.
    4. Assist the event coordinators with obtaining any necessary special permits or equipment.
    5. Assist the event coordinators collect any necessary fees for the event.
    6. Assist the Transportation chair and the event coordinator to ensure there is adequate transportation available for the event.
    7. Ensure timely distribution of information to the Troop about upcoming events by email, letter and/or the Troop web site.
    8. Be a good role model for the Scouts in the troop, and live by the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan.
    9. Be a registered Adult Leader or Member of Committee and be Youth Protection Trained.
